As we head to the ferry home, we look back on another lovely visit to Nantucket and a wonderful time at Carlisle House! This is by far our favorite inn on island. It is clean, cozy and professionally run by a real person, not a corporation! Breakfasts were perfect. Our rooms were beautifully decorated and well appointed. The beds and pillows are simply the best. The fresh cookies every afternoon were warm and yummy! The location is quiet, and just a brief walk to all the action. We can’t wait for our next trip to Nantucket and another stay at Carlisle House.
We loved Carlisle House! The inkeeper and her staff were friendly, helpful, thoughtful and kind. The Inn was decorated with attention to detail and breakfasts were delicious. It is in a very convenient location and we were able to easily walk to many places. We would definitely recommend Carlisle House and plan to return!
The Carlisle House Inn is a beautiful, amazing and convenient place to stay on Nantucket. My daughter, granddaughter and I went there for a Mother's Day getaway weekend to visit friends from the Island. The host and help couldn't have been more accommodating and helpful. The special touches added to the charm of this Inn. The breakfast area was filled with healthy morning food, afternoon cookies and cold fruited water, evening candy, but the best was how they made up my granddaughter's bed, neat as a pin with all her 'stuffies' laying on her pillow just like home!!
Our stay was PERFECT! The staff, rooms, calming decor and general feel of the B&B was so relaxing. We loved it! Sound machines next to the bedroom doors are a great little insight that every B&B or hotel should have (just in case you are a light sleeper). Outdoor area was perfect for a coffee or book. Jeanine (owner) has such a genuinely warm and welcoming personality!

One of our favorite touches was the complimentary s’mores night—complete with cozy blankets and a beautifully maintained fire pit out back. It created the perfect atmosphere to unwind. The rooms were pristine—immaculately clean, thoughtfully designed, and incredibly comfortable. Every detail reflected the care the staff puts into maintaining the inn. The hospitality throughout our stay was outstanding. Everyone we interacted with was kind, helpful, and genuinely attentive. Breakfast each morning was just right—fresh, delicious, and served in a relaxed, inviting setting. The location was also ideal—less than a 10-minute walk from the center of town, and just a 20-minute walk to Jetties Beach. It was the perfect balance of peaceful and convenient. This inn is a true gem on Nantucket. We’re already talking about coming back!
We had a great stay at the Carlisle House Inn. Room was very spacious and had all the amenities we needed, daily housekeeping and a great continental breakfast every morning. Location was perfect with an easy walk in to town. Hoping to be back to stay again in the near future.
ADORABLE and clean hotel within perfect walking distance of downtown! The owner is amazing and sets up a great breakfast, fruit flavored water, and cookies. You can enjoy s'mores at night by the fire and will wake up to birds chirping -- it's a quiet neighborhood. Beyond peaceful and the perfect place to stay!
The Carlisle House Inn is in the best location! Centrally located towards downtown, shopping, food, and near the Wave to get to any beach you’d like. Service was impeccable and every employee was so very kind! We loved our 3night stay here and are already planning a return trip!
